Folder changes, exclusions, and Trash

Refresh changed files, exclude photos, or move selected files to Trash.

Open jobs watch their photo folders. New top-level JPG/JPEG files appear in Ungrouped; deleted photos disappear; renamed or edited photos retain their grouping and refresh their previews. Use File → Refresh Photos (Command-R) to check immediately. Existing tracked photos can move into subfolders without importing unrelated nested files. If the folder is unavailable, the saved inventory stays intact until it reconnects.

Select one or more photos, then use the Photos menu, Command-K, or the photo’s right-click menu:

  • Exclude from Job leaves the file on disk and removes it from grouping, numbering, and process. Choose Excluded in the sidebar and Include in Job to append it to Ungrouped. Both actions support Undo. Including a retained photo outside the current folder copies it into that folder without overwriting an existing file.
  • Reveal in Finder selects available source files in Finder.
  • Move to Trash (Command-Delete) uses macOS Trash and removes only successfully trashed photos from the job. Restore with Finder’s Put Back, then refresh the job.
