Photos and job information

Walkthrough reads the local folders you open. It stores photo references, filename mappings, listing addresses and coordinates, groups, tags, templates, preferences, and job history in its private local library. Saved outline points, markers, crop settings, and nearby-place lists are also stored locally. It does not upload your photographs or job library to a Walkthrough server.

Saving an outline or crop renders a JPG copy in the photo folder. Re-editing rewrites that copy using the original image. Renaming, copying, and moving photos work on the files included in the job.

Apple Maps searches and travel estimates

Address search sends the text you enter to Apple’s MapKit service for suggestions and address details. You can enter structured address fields manually instead.

Using Find Place or Nearby Places sends place-search text and, when available, the listing’s location to Apple Maps. The app may look up coordinates from the listing address. Driving and walking estimates send the listing and destination coordinates to Apple’s routing service. These features require a network connection. Photo pixels and outline drawings are not part of these search or routing requests.

Selected places, coordinates, and travel estimates are saved with the local job. Apple processes requests under its own privacy terms. Drawing an outline, adding a manual label, and cropping a photo are local operations.

Software updates

Checking for updates uses Sparkle to request an update feed from brianrenshaw.app, hosted by GitHub Pages. Downloads are hosted on GitHub Releases. These hosting providers receive normal connection information such as your IP address and request metadata. Walkthrough disables Sparkle system-profile reporting. Automatic checks are optional. Your photographs, listing addresses, and job records are not included in update requests.

No advertising or analytics

The app includes no advertising or analytics SDKs and requires no account. There is no cloud synchronization in this version.

Your control

Settings can be explicitly exported or imported as a .listingnamersettings file. That file may include your saved addresses and business profile, so share it deliberately. To locate the private library, use Settings → General → Show Library in Finder. Contact support for help removing local app data without affecting your original photo folders.
