Who’s First? for iPhone
Let’s get you started.
Who’s First? requires iOS 26 or later. Open the menu in the upper-left to choose a mode. Settings is in the upper-right.
Chooser
- Place the phone on a stable surface.
- Have at least two people hold one finger on the screen.
- Keep your fingers down through the short buildup. One emphasized ring marks who goes first.
- Lift your fingers and touch again for another round.
The current app makes its choice about two seconds after the last person joins.
Tap In
- Each person taps once to add a numbered entry.
- When everyone has joined, tap Pick. You need at least two entries and can include up to 50.
- The emphasized number goes first. Tap the background after a result to keep the group and choose again.
Use Undo if someone joined twice. Clear asks before removing the group.
Pinball
- Put the phone flat. Between 2 and 12 people tap near their seats.
- Flick the ball across the board.
- Follow the bounces to the selected seat. Each seat has equal odds.
The ball follows your flick. A wall may visibly flex once to keep the outcome fair. Tap the background after the result to keep the seats for another flick.
Make it yours
Settings offers eight visual worlds. A three-finger tap changes to a different world when the screen is safe, without clearing your group. In the mode menu, you can also make the current mode your launch default.
Welcome and accessibility
The introduction explains all three modes. Replay it with Show Welcome Again in Settings, or open How It Works for the guide. VoiceOver provides spoken results and a Shuffle colors action. Larger text, Reduce Motion, Reduce Transparency, Increase Contrast, and Differentiate Without Color are supported.
Troubleshooting
For Chooser, keep at least two fingers down. For Tap In or Pinball, add at least two players before choosing. Switching modes clears the current group; the menu is disabled during a choice. Leaving the app or rotating during Pinball cancels the current run while keeping the seats.
