Where Do We Eat helps you decide where to eat and remember where you went. It is built so that your dining life stays yours.

What the app stores

The app keeps the places you save, the people and groups you eat with, the contexts you create, the meals you log, the meals you plan, your notes and photos, and the choices it has shown you. All of it is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, in a private database only you can read. We do not run servers that hold your data, and we cannot see it.

What leaves your device

Nothing else leaves your device. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking software, and it does not sell or share your data.

Permissions

The app asks for access only when a feature you chose needs it: Contacts (to pick a companion), Photos and Camera (to save dining photos and scan menus), Location (to notice which context you are in, only while using the app), Microphone and Speech Recognition (to speak a request), Calendar (write-only, to add a planned meal through Apple's editor), and Siri. You can change any of these in Settings at any time and the app keeps working.

Spotlight and Siri

Your restaurants and contexts can appear in Spotlight search on your device. Your visit history, notes, and companions appear there only if you turn that on in the app's settings. Siri can answer questions about your usual orders only if you turn that on.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove its data from your device. To remove the iCloud copy as well, go to Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage on your device and delete the app's data.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
